Senso Lock, Adjust, Dryback FAQs

A. Senso Lock is a lock together vinyl plank. Senso Dryback is a vinyl plank designed to be glued down. Senso Adjust is a removable vinyl plank with an integrated tackifier. See the individual product pages for product size and packaging information.

A. Senso Lock will need to be glued down in areas where the flooring is subject to heat and sunlight. For rooms such as sunrooms, we recommend Senso Dryback, glued down, for this situation. See the Installation guidelines for each product for more detail.

A. Yes, Senso can be installed in any indoor room of the house.

A. Yes, as wheelchair wheels are made with medical grade rubber, they can go on Senso without any damage to the floor.

A. Yes, as long as pets with long claws aren’t repeatedly digging in one spot, Senso will not be affected by your pet, and cleaning fur and mess will be made easier.

A. Most stains can be removed using a damp cloth with Eucalyptus Oil. Never use abrasive pads or cleaners, strong alkaline detergents, ammonia, chlorine detergents or undiluted bleaches. Always wipe spills away immediately with a damp cloth or sponge.

A. Do not put waxed or rubber products in prolonged contact with your floor as this will cause a permanent stain. This includes rubber backed mats, low cost shoes, and rubber stoppers for furniture. Use an alternative such as fabric stoppers to protect your Senso flooring.

A. As with all types of flooring, dragging a heavy item such as a refrigerator will damage the product. When moving furniture ensure you use a roller trolley and move item carefully.

A. Do not install Senso planks or tiles if you have underfloor heating. The heat will interfere with the adhesive on the back of the planks.

A. A metal ruler, pencil, spirit level, utility knife, water-based primer and primer applicator.

A. Before starting, planks must be removed from their packaging and laid flat for 24 hours at a room temperature of 18°C or above.
Make sure your subfloor is perfectly dry, smooth, level, sound and clean.
All subfloor surfaces must be primed with a reputable water based primer for best adhesion. This will be available in Bunnings too.

A. Uneven or damaged surfaces need to be filled and levelled. You may need to use a self-levelling compound. Cracks need to be filled and levelled.

A. No, the product needs to be installed on a flat solid surface

A. Download the full Installation and Maintenance Guide before installing.
Divide you room into 4 equal sections and start at the centre.
Peel backing from the vinyl plank and apply firm all over pressure. Remember to follow the arrow direction on back of plank when laying.
For best results lay in a staggered pattern.
To cut planks simply mark the cutting line with a utility knife and snap in a downward motion (score and snap).
Leave a credit card sized gap around the perimeter of the room.

A. Heat with a hair dryer and simply lift up.

A. Senso can be maintained with a simple sweep and mop with a detergent that states it is compatible with vinyl flooring. No sealing or polishing is required for the life of the product.

A. Most stains can be removed using a damp cloth with Eucalyptus Oil. Never use abrasive pads or cleaners, strong alkaline detergents, ammonia, chlorine detergents or undiluted bleaches. Always wipe spills away immediately with a damp cloth or sponge.

A. Senso Essential and Lifestyle can be installed over heated floors, as long as the floor temperature doesn’t exceed 28°C. The heating system must be turned off 48 hours before installation and only turned on 48 hours after installation is completed.

A. 95% of Senso Lifestyle’s backing is manufactured from recycled PET drink bottles. 1 sqm of Texline saves 2 bottles going into landfill.

A. Make sure your subfloor is perfectly dry, smooth, level, sound and clean. Switch under floor heating off 24 hours prior to installation. Allow flooring to relax, unrolled for 24 hours prior to laying.

A. Senso Essentials and Lifestyle can be loose laid up to 20m2. This means no adhesives are required for installation. This makes it fast and more economical.

Check that the subfloor is perfectly dry, smooth, level, sound and clean.
Cut the vinyl to fit the floor area, allowing for overhang.
Trim the excess with a utility knife.

If gluing the floor – use a vinyl adhesive to stick the floor down to the subfloor.
If loose laying the floor – use double-sided tape on the perimeter of the room and under heavy usage / object areas, such as fridges and washing machines.
